ATTN R.AC's! We have an amazing professional development opportunity coming up. Julie Saint-Pierre, R.Ac (of Dartmouth's Access Acupuncture), will be doing two weekends in November dedicated to Pediatric Acupuncture. Our work is excellent for children and the results can be quick and effective, however so many of us do not have the skills and confidence to treat this population. Well fear no more! Julie will take you through many techniques and treatment methods as well as common pathologies that we can in pediatric practice. These techniques are also excellent for adult patients who are sensitive to typical needling. Expand your patient population and help more people!

Moxibustion heat therapy at Zusanli, 3 inches below the knee, is a simple treatment. It’s the cure-all of acumoxa practice. Sometimes we are supervising in the Autumn Teaching Clinic and have to push a student to find a treatment that is more targeted, more specific—that perfect point to match the patient’s presentation out of all the 360 choices. Other times, like this case of concurrent cancer and autoimmune disease with fatigue, weight loss and an inabaility to eat, just after completing chemoradiotherapy, Zusanli is the perfect match. Our student intern here performs moxa at Zusanli to great effect. The patient left the treatment feeling stronger, feeling connected and supported, feeling more prepared to fight another day. I am so grateful that this exists for her.

PROFESSIONAL CLINIC:
Our registered acupuncturists, Henry Claflin and Stephanie Rybczyn El-Khatib, provide exceptional one-on-one treatment specializing in chronic pain.

TEACHING CLINIC:
Student interns offer $15 treatments, supervised by experienced registered acupuncturists. You are treated by one intern, with 1-2 student observers. We offer sessions in a private room and in the community room.

This September, AIH has added professional acupuncture! Henry Claflin's private practice is now at AIH in Lower Sackville. Henry specializes in chronic pain, frequently treating problems of the spine, joint pain, headaches, neck and back pain.
