Who is making strawberry jam this season? This is such a good treat in the middle of the winter when all this fresh stuff is gone. Plus I’ve seen they have a ninja ice cream maker now? Does anyone have one? We just happen to have the perfect local cream and I just can’t eat ice cream from the stores anymore. Literally hurts my stomach…

Alright. I’ve managed to stay healthy all winter so far. And I’m super motivated to make sure it says this way. So. Out comes the bone broth. I haven’t really felt like cooking a whole chicken so I grabbed the bones we have from Kent Heritage Farms and threw them in the oven to roast. I was feeling too lazy to walk over to the hub for celery onions and carrots so it looks like this one is just going to be garlic and the broth itself. After they were cooked I put the bones in water on the stove top on low for about 6 hours - in a stainless steel pot. NOT aluminum. Then I put a tight lid on it - turned it off and went to bed. By morning it was still warm and ready to be jarred. There’s so much! Why pay for chicken “stock” at the store when you can make your own. Plus. That stock is not bone broth. Big difference. It’s all about how long you “cook” it for. Plus how much do my dogs love me right now? A lot. lol. 01/14/2025
