📚 Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year!

As we enter a new academic year, there are always a few small updates and adjustments introduced by the Ontario Ministry of Education. We want to make sure all of our incoming and current students, families, and educational partners are informed and prepared.

This year’s updates include some adjustments to course evaluation, final examinations, attendance and participation, Financial Literacy, STEM requirements, and graduation planning for certain student cohorts.

The good news is that these are manageable updates, and Red Leaf Education is fully on track with all required changes and has our programs, policies, and student pathways updated and ready for the new school year.

Our team will continue to review each student’s individual requirements to make sure they remain on track toward graduation and understand exactly what applies to them.

🎓 Exam Prep Tip from the Principal & Registrar – Focus on Understanding, Not Memorizing

As we get closer to exam season at Red Leaf Education, we receive many great questions from students about how to prepare effectively.

One of the most common questions—especially in Science and Physics—is:

👉 “Do I need to memorize all the equations?”

✅ The answer (in most cases):

No.

In many of your exams, key formulas and equations are provided. That’s because we are not testing your ability to memorize—we are evaluating something much more important:

🧠 Your ability to:

Understand when to use an equation
Apply it correctly to a problem
Think critically about the result
Interpret what the answer actually means

🔍 What this means for your studying:

Instead of spending hours trying to memorize formulas, focus on:

✔️ Practicing how to use equations
✔️ Understanding why they work
✔️ Solving different types of problems
✔️ Explaining your thinking clearly
