September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day. This day honours the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors, and their families and communities.

The orange shirt symbolizes the stripping away of culture, freedom, and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous children, and it stands as a reminder that Every Child Matters.

To show our support, reflect on our shared history, and commit to ongoing learning, our educators, staff, and families can be found wearing orange today.

Educators have the power to transform lives. When we show up in our programs, we show up for each other and for the children and families we serve.

That is just one of many of the takeaways we captured recently when over 500 educators and main office support staff had the pleasure of participating in a powerful professional learning session, led by the engaging and energetic Orlando Bowen. This former CFL linebacker turned youth charity founder and motivational speaker truly moved everyone with his charismatic personality and heartfelt story.

At many points throughout the day he took intentional pauses to acknowledge the work of educators, and also encouraged us to acknowledge and celebrate each other. These exercises really highlighted the many years of experience and dedication in the room.

He asked us: “What is it that keeps you going?” The answer? It’s the people.

“One voice. One team.” was a motto repeated through the day, the echoes of which can still be heard.

The start of the new school year is just around the corner, and we are looking for exceptional educators to support our growing programs! ✨

We are currently recruiting Supervisors and Assistants to work in our Before and After School programs to become part of our talented and committed child care community. We have programs in schools across London as well as Lambeth, Delaware and Mount Brydges.

Our programs serve a diverse community and we are looking for people who have experience working with children and/ or graduated or in school for ECE, DSW, PSW, CYW and ABS to support a sense of Belonging and Inclusion for all of our children and families. We offer flexible work schedules in various locations near your home and school.
