Personal Finance wrapped up the semester with a creative twist! Students designed their own versions of classic board games like Snakes & Ladders and Candy Land, incorporating real-life financial scenarios throughout the game. As players navigated both planned and unexpected events—from rent payments and life milestones to job loss or gambling debt—the games reflected financial challenges and decisions they may face after high school. It was practical, productive, and a whole lot of fun!

[EXCITING UPDATE] Our Innovation and Technology Campaign is approaching a defining moment: we are less than $300,000 away from our funding threshold of 75% – the point we’ll be able to put shovels in the ground! Reaching this target by mid-July will allow us to open the new wing by September 2027.
In just 14 months, more than $3.8 million has been raised for the construction of new learning spaces that will serve students pursuing technology and the trades. We are truly humbled by your ongoing support, and so excited to see what God has in store for our students. Check out the What We’re Building page (link below) to learn more and see how you can help us reach this important goal!

LCH Students' Council and members of AMP (the Ambassador & Mentorship Program) enjoyed a retreat at YFC London where they looked ahead to next year, exploring what it means to ensure every student feels seen, known and loved. Their discussions focused not only on welcoming next year's Grade 9 students, but also on intentionally connecting with current students who have not yet found their place within the LCH community.

🪱 Biology came to life in Grade 10 as students rolled up their sleeves for an earthworm dissection! After learning about organ systems in humans and other animals, students explored an earthworm's digestive system and compared both the similarities and differences between species. It was a great opportunity to connect textbook learning to the real world!

⚽ It was a great season for the girls’ soccer team, who won the B Pool at the Christian High tournament and made it to the City finals. They showed growth, grit and sportsmanship, and represented LCH well all season! Special shoutouts: Brooke as leading goal-scorer, goalkeeper Danait (who recorded a couple shutouts this season!) and to the Grade 12 players for your leadership and dedication.
Grade 11 end-of-year retreat! It was a sunny, summery day spent digging deep into what teamwork and leadership look like as students look forward to their final year of high school. Thanks Maple Grove Christian Retreat Centre for hosting us!

This year's Track and Field team set records all over the place: breaking old LCH records, creating brand new ones and achieving personal bests! A few highlights: Claire now holds the Jr. Girls Steeplechase record at LCH with a time of 9:48.70. Devin's pole vault jump (3.45m) is both a record for LCH and a personal best—and earned him a win in the WOSSAA Jr Boys category. Nash won WOSSAA Jr. Boys javelin with a throw of 43.07m, and Michaela obliterated an LCH record in shot put (which hadn't been broken since 1982!) and placed third at WOSSAA with a personal best of 9.98m. Some students also tried events new to them this year. All trained hard in whichever they chose to compete!
Music students were tasked with a unique project: taking a well-known hymn and reimagining it in a different style or genre. Buckle up: this isn’t your traditional “Jesus Loves Me”!
