Parents are amazed to see, within the first few classes, kids not only learn the skills to operate a sewing machine but also produce their very first project, a drawstring bag. Once students have completed this project they will be hooked on the world of sewing and begin to realize the limitless possibilities of making their own creations. hey feel the pride and confidence which creating brings. Daytime classes are available to both home school students and adults with elementary and high school students attending after school. The classes are taught by a fashion designer, who has worked in the clothing industry for over 25 years. For over 9 years, Kelly has been having great success teaching expert skills, to her many sewing students. Whether you are new to sewing or want to sharpen your skills and/or like the idea of scheduling yourself into weekly classes to enable yourself to proceed on your projects. The small classes provide students personal quality instruction. The list of Kellys’ students who are continuing on in fashion related programs at Ryerson University and Seneca College Fashion Programme is growing. Senior students at the studio have the opportunity to participate in an annual fashion design competition held in Hamilton. In June of 2011, two groups of senior students from the studio that entered won both 1st and 3rd place out 20 entrants from Hamilton and the GTA.
