The Write Place: Empowering writers at King's University College 👑 Book an appointment below (Link) We will not consult on tests, quizzes, or exams.
At The Write Place-- King's University College's dedicated writing center-- we are committed to helping all students become better writers. Students from all disciplines can come in at any stage of the writing process for help with any assignment. We are a free and confidential service provided by the Department of English, French, and Writing and the Academic Dean's Office. Our trained tutors giv
e feedback on many aspects of writing: rather than editing, we help students become better writers by offering feedback on essay organization, paragraph structure, thesis statements, appropriate diction, citations, and critical thinking. We listen, ask questions, and provide honest responses.
All appointments should be made via WCONLINE. Please visit the following link and register for an account on https://kings.mywconline.com with your UWO email address. If you would like a real-time meeting, you can choose someone who is available face-to-face in KC 113, or online synchronously (it is a good idea to choose the earliest available tutor). If you require feedback only, you can choose an online asynchronous appointment; make sure to upload the draft (Word documents only) at least one hour before the appointment start time. All asynchronous feedback will be returned within the next working day, so please submit your assignment well before the due date. Please note that The Write Place is not an editing service: instead, we will provide feedback that you can use to edit your own paper. Our appointments are open only to enrolled students of King's, Brescia, Huron, and Western. Appointments are 50 minutes in length.
