SOUPer BOWL TICKETS ARE LIVE!

The SOUPer Bowl is a collaborative annual fundraiser between Growing Chefs! Ontario Urban Roots London and Clayworx: Ceramic Arts Learning Centre , celebrating the power of community partnerships in tackling food insecurity on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Guests will enjoy a lunch of homemade breads and delicious soups, each crafted by a Growing Chefs! Chef using fresh, locally grown ingredients supplied by Urban Roots London. Beautiful artisan bowls created by Clayworx: Ceramic Arts Learning Centre, will be on display for you to choose your favourite to take home. This event blends culinary creativity, local agriculture, and functional art into one communal dining experience!

After your lunch, attendees will vote on their favourite soup, crowning the next “SOUPer Bowl Champion” ~ winning a stunning handcrafted Clayworx trophy, and full bragging rights! You’ll have an opportunity to win door prizes and bid on silent auction items during your chosen seating.

INTRO TO PLASTER MOLDS

Learn the basics of plaster, types of molds & how to use molds with Dauma Stirbyte. On day 1 you will learn the basics - how to mix, pour & allow the plaster to set. You will make your one or two part mold.

On day 2 you will clean up your mold and prepare it for use. In the afternoon you will be guided through a hands-on experience on how to use your mold for press molding. Slip casting will also be discussed!

To give is to send something across a distance and trust what returns. "Luwa Wihe" dwells in the space between two worlds that were never built to meet—the physical and the virtual, the human and what is not—and in the slow exchange of gifts that passes between Cassie Packham and space/opal. What is given is never what comes back. The passage changes it.

Here, form is made where there is no gravity to hold it, and carried into matter that bears the marks of the crossing. Image becomes object becomes image again. The river is read aloud. Sound rises from the objects where they are met. Clay holds what was never clay, and the seam is left open, not closed. Through gesture, material, sound, and patience, the work traces what becomes possible when relation is offered across a threshold not made to receive it … and answered anyway.

Not everything here is shown. Some of it is given elsewhere, to someone else, and only its return is visible. Some of it is felt before it is found. What passes between is not always something you can see—and that, too, is the work.

Cassie (Onoyota’a:ka) is an artist‑researcher working at the intersections of Indigenous futurism, digital sovereignty, and relational world‑building. Through machinima, generative systems, and virtual environments, she creates spaces of care, kinship, and digital continuity. Their practice bridges land‑based knowledge with emerging technologies to imagine sovereign futures across interconnected worlds.

We had an amazing time in Elevated Slips on Functional Ware this past weekend with the incredibly talented . Participants pushed their creativity, experimented with layering slips & explored new surface techniques
