Joy can show up in so many different places throughout the homeschool day. Sometimes it’s a favourite subject that a child can’t wait to begin, and other times it’s found in reading together, creating art, exploring outdoors, experimenting in the kitchen, playing a learning game, or diving deeper into a new interest.

One of the gifts of homeschooling is having the freedom to notice what brings our children to life and make room for more of it. Those moments of genuine curiosity and enthusiasm can lead to some of the richest learning.

Gratitude has a beautiful way of shifting our perspective. In the midst of lesson plans, busy days, challenges, and all the little details that come with homeschooling, there is so much worth pausing to appreciate.

Maybe it’s the extra time together, the freedom to learn at your child’s pace, watching their confidence grow, discovering what truly sparks their curiosity, or simply being present for moments you might otherwise have missed.

As we move through this season of thanksgiving, may we take time to notice the gifts woven throughout our homeschool days—the big milestones and the quiet, ordinary moments.

This year's PD Day will be hosted by the Greater Fredericton Home Educators from 9am to 3pm at Devon Park Baptist Church, 145 Clark Street, Fredericton. You can expect a day of wonderful fellowship with other homeschool parents, encouragement as we walk this journey together, great food, a free curriculum table and some door prizes!
