🚨 Important First Aid Training Update for Ontario Workplaces 🚨

Beginning **June 22, 2026**, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) is introducing updated First Aid training requirements across Ontario.

Canadian Red Cross First Aid courses will be updated to align with the new **CSA Z1210:24 standards**, ensuring participants receive the most current workplace safety training. ✅

📌 **What's Changing?**

🩹 **New Certification Names**
• Basic First Aid = Emergency First Aid
• Intermediate First Aid = Standard First Aid

🏢 Businesses will continue to meet WSIB Regulation 1101 requirements.

📚 **Updated Course Content**
• Additional Occupational Health & Safety information
• Mandatory learner bulletin

🔄 **Recertification Courses Continue**
Participants can still alternate between full certification and recertification courses every 3 years.

✔️ **Current Certifications Remain Valid**
All certifications issued before or after June 22, 2026, remain valid until their expiry date.

🌟 Celebrating Seniors Month Through Food, Community, and Connection! 🌟

This month, London Middlesex Community Housing (LMCH) wanted to do something special for the residents of their McNay Street community, and we were thrilled to be part of it.

Together, residents rolled up their sleeves and created a delicious brunch for their neighbours, preparing mini quiches, sweet danishes filled with lemon curd, cream cheese, and jams, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, and fresh salad. More than just a meal, the workshop brought people together to learn new skills, build confidence, and strengthen community connections.

This event builds on a partnership that began in December when we hosted our first brunch workshop with residents at LMCH's Hale Street location. It has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm and engagement grow with each event.

We're excited to continue celebrating Seniors Month with LMCH! On June 29, we'll be joining residents at Walnut to host a Chicken Butchery Workshop, offering another opportunity for hands-on learning and community building.

Thank you to LMCH and all the residents who participated and helped make this event such a success. We look forward to many more opportunities to cook, learn, and connect together.

Our Assistant Chef Instructor Claire and Chef Instructor Chandany Chen had a fantastic time working alongside Grade 11 and 12 Hospitality students as they built kitchen skills, explored affordable cooking techniques, and created some delicious dishes along the way! ✨

From Tofu Butter "Chicken" and Lentil & Bean "Meat" Balls to French Macarons, students stepped outside their comfort zones, learned new techniques, and discovered how food can open doors to future careers and opportunities. 🌱🍝🍋

We're grateful to Laurier Secondary School and Laura Wiebe for partnering with us to support student learning and career exploration. We look forward to connecting with more students in the future! ❤️
