Final Integrative Workshop complete!
Our MPH students experienced their final Integrative Workshop, led by Dr. Shannon Sibbald with support from Dr. Shane Goodwin, Steve Hun, and Gordon Thane.
Focused on the complexity of homelessness, the day brought together 12 local community experts and 3 on‑call consultants as students worked through real‑world public health challenges and the core components of an RFP.
Integrative Workshops are intense but impactful. They give students the chance to apply classroom learning, think critically, network with professionals, and truly experience the challenges of public health practice.

MPH and the success of practicum placements:
This past summer, Master of Public Health students Qingyan Wang and Chengjia Zhu completed their practicum placements with Celiac Canada and their work is already making an impact.
Among several meaningful projects, they developed a user-focused, practical travel resource to support individuals living with celiac disease. We’re excited to share that the Gluten‑Free Travel Guide is now live on Celiac Canada’s website and available for download: https://www.celiac.ca/living-gluten-free/travel/
This is a fantastic example of how practicum experiences empower our students to create real, community‑focused public health tools.
👏 Congratulations, Qingyan and Chengjia, on this outstanding achievement!
Travel
One of the most daunting parts of a celiac or gluten sensitivity diagnosis is figuring out how to travel safely eating gluten-free. It may seem overwhelming but with research and preparation, you can have a vacation experience full of culinary excitement.
