Happy Pride Month!!!
We as a team for Theatre Western are so excited to be celebrating pride all throughout the month of June.
Within TW, we know that the stage has always been a welcoming community and a home for everybody no matter what. So this month, and every month, we’re choosing awareness and highlighting the importance of inclusion.
Here’s what pride means to us:
🌈 We celebrate every identity on our stage and in our seats. You belong here no matter what.
🤝 We listen we learn and we grow. We are always open to hearing how to make our club even more inclusive than it already is.
🗣️ We use our voice. We as a theatre group have a platform for speaking out and we believe that our platform should be used to amplify marginalized voices.
🚫 We don’t tolerate exclusion. Not on our stage, not in rehearsals, and not in our audience. The theatre is a space where everyone can feel safe and welcome, those who threaten that safety are not.
❤️ We love loud and proud. Pride isn’t just about acceptance, it’s about celebration and letting everyone shine exactly as they are.
🏳️🌈 We show up all year, not just this month. Pride month is a beautiful reminder of the things that we should be celebrating all year round. So our commitment to inclusion doesn’t end on July 1st.
We show our love for everyone with all of our events all year round, especially the ones that focus on uplifting and celebrating q***r voices. Happy Pride!!!
Our new hires have already been hard at work so stay tuned for more information on our second round of exec hiring and congratulations to all of those that got hired in our first round!
