Troll in a Bowl Games

Troll in a Bowl Games Troll in a Bowl Apps publishes interactive speech, listening and language activities on the www.boo Troll in a bowl apps are good for your child. LSLS Cert.

We believe the best apps are used like picture books, connecting a child with his parent through meaningful conversation and experience. The best times are had when there are three or more hands on the device. We won't sell to you, shock you, mislead you. We will work hard to make your child laugh and want to share that laugh with you. Language is our goal. All app ideas and illustrations are done by a Canadian Speech and Language Pathologist living in Mexico - Dave Sindrey, M.Cl.Sc. AVT

When we play with our apps and think "Wouldn't it be cool if it could...." we sit back down at our computers and work to make it happen. Our philosophy is that if our app is our favorite app, it will be someone else's too.

One of my SLP grads that is fantastic is moving into the New York State area and asked about connections or suggestions on how to make them. She is lovely and I would like to help. Anyone out there have any ideas?

A little side project I'd like to share!

Over the past few years, graduate students in Western University's Speech-Language Pathology program and I have been developing a growing library of free microlearning modules called Sound Steps.

The modules focus on practical strategies for individuals with hearing loss, families, teachers, and professionals. They include videos, downloadable resources, and interactive activities like the one shown below.

While many of my Troll in a Bowl followers work in areas beyond hearing loss, some of you may support children or adults who wear hearing aids or remote mic systems.

Current modules address topics such as:

• Remote microphone use in classrooms
• Supporting hearing aid use in preschool settings
• Communication strategies for couples managing hearing loss
• Helping babies with hearing loss listen and learn
• Language development through daily routines
• Hearing technology management and self-advocacy for teens

Feel free to explore, share with colleagues, or pass along to anyone who might find the resources useful.

And if you have ideas for future topics, I'd love to hear them!
