Last but not least, here are our categories for this year's Composition Competition! π΅ πΉπ
Best Original Pop Song: Compositions of a similar style to something that would feasibly appear in the Billboard Hot 100.
Best Arrangement: Compositions that are arrangements of already existing pieces. Arrangements will be judged on how they are arranged and treatment of the original material.
Orchestration/Classical-style: Compositions are judged based on their orchestration and the technical proficiency of the composer. General rule of thumb is a composition that might be studied in any Theory I-V class.
Film/Video Game Music: Compositions that are written in the style of film/video game music. Does not include arrangements of existing film/video game music.
From My Culture: Compositions that are from/based on a culture's music.
People's Choice Award: Compositions that have not won another category will be automatically considered for the Peopleβs Choice award, voted on by the student body.
As always, DM or contact [email protected] if you have any questions! Submit your compositions via the google form in our bio.
