There's a particular kind of loss that arrives quietly: the loss of a voice. The cadence of a story told for the 100th time. The way someone lights up recounting their first risk, their worst failure, their proudest moment.

Ivey alum Andrea Lekushoff, MBA '01, built Context Studios Studios because she understood that loss before it happened — and was determined to do something about it.

The idea began with her own parents. As they moved through their 80s, Andrea wanted to preserve their Macedonian immigrant story. But the conventional tools — the anniversary book, the written biography — simply weren't built for them. So she developed a process to capture her parents' story in a form that was easy on them physically and emotionally, while producing something cinematic, authentic, and enduring.

That process became the foundation of CONTEXT Studios, which now produces Netflix-calibre documentary films for high-net-worth individuals, founders, and multi-generational family enterprise leaders across Canada.

Andrea credits much of her entrepreneurial foundation to her time at Ivey, where she devoured every entrepreneurship course available, served as president of the Entrepreneurship Club, built relationships with fellow entrepreneurial alumni, and co-founded LeaderLab — the school's first global webcast event.

A wonderful read on legacy, craft, and the entrepreneurial instinct to build what doesn't yet exist. 💚

"The world doesn't need you to be perfect, it needs you to be consistently imperfect to have the impact you're capable of having."

Ivey alum Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, HBA '92, addressed the Faculty of Social Science graduates after receiving an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Western University.

In her citation, Ivey's Nicole Haggerty described Singh Cassidy as an extraordinary Ivey alum, a globally respected technology leader, and a passionate champion for gender equity and economic empowerment.

The day before, Singh Cassidy spoke to the HBA Class of 2026 at their Ivey Pledge Ceremony.

When Rachel Millar, HBA '26, graduated this week, she represented the latest chapter in a family connection to Ivey that began more than 60 years ago.

Rachel's grandfather, Peter Walter, graduated from Western Business School (now Ivey) in 1962. Her mother, Suzanne (Walter) Millar, followed in 1991. And her brother, Markus Millar, HBA '27, is continuing the tradition next year.

Rachel always knew she wanted to go to Ivey, inspired by her mom's experience. "What really drew me in was seeing how close my mom and her friends still are. They live all over the place now, but they're still incredibly connected."

For Suzanne, seeing both of her children choose Ivey on their own has been meaningful. "You never want to assume your children will follow your path…but it feels really special that they chose it for themselves."

15 Ivey MBA students recently participated in the Ivey MBA internship pilot, an innovative program designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience.

Now in its second year, the pilot offered roles in two industries: capital markets and technology. Five students have already secured full-time positions with their internship organizations, and another is currently in negotiations.

The MBA internship pilot grew out of repeated student interest and entry into the pilot is highly competitive. As Ivey transitions to a new MBA structure with a January start date, the internship pilot is expected to continue.

Congratulations to Ivey's Women in Asset Management program on five years of growth, connection, and impact! 🎉

The Women in Asset Management (WAM) program launched in 2022 to address the problem of not enough women in asset management. Women accounted for just 14 per cent of global fund managers and only six per cent of chief investment officers at the largest U.S. institutional money managers.

Since its launch, WAM has expanded beyond Western University to include students from universities across Canada. The 2026 cohort has 49 students from 11 universities and the program now has approximately 175 alumni building careers across the industry.

Current students, alumni, sponsors, and faculty recently gathered to celebrate the anniversary at Ivey's new Donald K. Johnson Centre in Toronto.
