🌟 National AccessAbility Week 🌟

At All & Every, National AccessAbility Week is a time to recognize and celebrate the valuable contributions, strengths, and leadership of people with disabilities in our communities.

Accessibility is about more than ramps and accommodations. It’s about creating communities where everyone feels welcomed, included, supported, and empowered to participate fully. It means listening, learning, removing barriers, and continuing to build spaces where people can thrive as their authentic selves.

This week, we celebrate the individuals in our community who continue to show resilience, creativity, kindness, and determination every day. We are grateful to walk alongside so many amazing people, families, staff, and community partners who help make inclusion meaningful in action, not just words.

Let’s continue working toward communities where access, belonging, and opportunity exist for everyone. 💙

Even event calendars need a little support sometimes 😅

We noticed our Neurodivergent Board Game Night was listed with the wrong date on the Downtown London June calendar. The correct date is Tuesday, June 9th!

No worries though, mistakes happen to everyone, and we’re just happy to be included alongside so many great community events 💛🎲

Navigating diagnoses, school supports, funding applications, and community resources can feel overwhelming, especially for families trying to manage everything at once. Programs like these from Autism Ontario can be incredibly valuable in helping caregivers feel more informed, supported, and confident in advocating for their children.

We especially appreciate workshops that focus on practical guidance, accessibility, and creating space for families to ask questions and connect with others who may be having similar experiences. 💙

Whether you are navigating a new diagnosis, learning more about special education systems, or trying to better understand funding supports like SSAH and ACSD, these sessions offer helpful information and community connection along the way.

Be sure to check out the original post for workshop details and registration information!

🐥 We’re excited to share this unique opportunity from Nourishing Hearts Wellness Care Farm! 🐥

Programs like Chicken Whisper offer so many valuable benefits for children beyond just spending time with animals. Caring for chickens can help children build confidence, responsibility, emotional regulation, patience, communication skills, and self-compassion in a hands-on and engaging environment.

Animal-assisted learning can also support social development, reduce stress and anxiety, encourage mindfulness, and create opportunities for children to practice teamwork and connection with others in a gentle, supportive setting.

This looks like such a meaningful and creative program for children to learn, grow, and build positive relationships with both animals and peers. 💛

Be sure to check out the details below if you’re interested!

Is your child struggling with emotional awareness, self-esteem, or resilience? Our unique "Chicken Whisperer" program offers a nurturing environment where children learn vital social-emotional skills through the care and companionship of chickens.

What is Chicken Whisperer?

Chicken Whisperer is an innovative animal-assisted therapy group designed for children aged 9-12. This 8-week program uses the engaging and calming presence of chickens to help children develop:

Emotional Awareness: Identifying and understanding their feelings.

Self-Esteem: Building confidence and a positive self-image.

Positive Self-Talk: Replacing negative thoughts with encouraging affirmations.

Growth Mindset: Embracing challenges and learning from mistakes.

Self-Compassion: Treating themselves with kindness and understanding.

Resiliency: Bouncing back from setbacks and adversity.

Self-Love: Accepting and appreciating themselves for who they are.

By learning to care for chickens, children develop empathy, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of their own needs and emotions.

How it Works

Weekly Group Sessions: Interactive activities and discussions facilitated by trained therapists.

Chicken Care: Hands-on experience feeding, cleaning, and interacting with chickens.

Mindfulness Exercises: Practicing present-moment awareness and emotional regulation.

Creative Expression: Using art and play to explore feelings.

Skill-Building Activities: Targeted exercises to develop specific social-emotional skills.

Each session is carefully designed to create a safe and supportive space where children can connect with themselves, with others, and with the animals around them. Through gentle guidance and positive reinforcement, we empower children to overcome challenges, build confidence, and develop a strong sense of self-worth. The 8 week course is specifically designed to build upon prior weeks to promote a consistent and enriching learning experience.

Animal-assisted therapy has been shown to have numerous benefits for children, including:
Reduced anxiety and stress
Improved mood and emotional regulation
Increased self-esteem and confidence
Enhanced social skills and communication

Is Chicken Whisperer Right for Your Child?

This program is ideal for children who:

Struggle with self-esteem or confidence
Need support with social skills
Love animals or are curious about chickens

The program is designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all children, regardless of their background or experience.
