The Robarts Association of Trainees (RATs) works to maintain open communication between students and academic mentors to foster an environment of academic and professional development. With support from the Scientific and Executive Director, we work to promote interdisciplinary collaboration to broaden our continued learning while supporting a balanced and healthy student lifestyle.

It’s spring!! And with that, the Robarts Research Institute Formal! 

So put on your best attire (florals and bright colours are encouraged!) and come celebrate the warmer weather with colleagues and friends in an elegant setting! 

The evening will feature a nice dinner, a photobooth with prints, and a dance floor with a DJ (alongside other little surprises).

RATs present: Alumni talks!
 
We are excited to conduct our first Robarts Alumni Talks featuring Dr. Leah Groves!!

Dr. Groves will share her journey from her time at Robarts to her current career. She will discuss her academic and professional experiences, provide career insights, and answer questions during a Q&A session following her talk.

Location: BioNext (6th floor), Robarts Research Institute and Zoom

RATs present: Scholarship session!!

This past, Thursday, November 21, 2024, we conducted an informal session to help the Schulich Students to apply for their respective scholarships.

Awarded senior students attended the session to answer questions and share their perspective and tips.

With the start of the new school year upon us, the RATs council is hosting its first social event: a barbeque at the grad club on September 14th!!

The whole Robarts community is welcome. It will be a great opportunity to see the newly renovated grad club if you haven't yet, socialize with your fellow colleagues, enjoy some FREE food, and prepare for the year ahead!

Note there is a limited availability, so be sure to register early!

With this year's council term wrapping up, we will be having our annual Town Hall on Tuesday, June 28th at 12pm to discuss how the trainee experience was during this past year. Please feel free to join us using the following Zoom link:

Want to meet great people, improve the trainee experience, and develop teamwork and leadership skills?

Every year the Robarts Association of Trainees organizes social and professional development events for trainees at Robarts. We also serve to advocate for and represent trainees at Robarts. The council works closely with Robarts administration to enhance the trainee experience. Some of the events we organize include Robarts Research Retreat, Winter Formal, Scholarship Information Sessions, Trainee Orientation, and Game Nights. As a council member, you will be working with a team of 8 trainees and will be expected to attend a weekly meeting. The time commitment is around 2hrs/ week.

Nominations are now open for next year’s Robarts Association of Trainees Council! Candidates must submit a short statement and attend the RATs townhall meeting.
