Thank you for your interest and/or past participation in the Plant a Row, Grow a Row program! We hope you plan to volunteer to "plant a row" (or "plant a pot" if you have an apartment balcony) for us again this year. If you are still looking for plants or even seeds, it's not too late to get your garden going!

We received two large donations of plants yesterday from a generous greenhouse and the Friends of the Civic Garden Complex, and we have the following available for you to take home to grow for us:

tomatoes (many varieties)
peppers (a few varieties)
pumpkin
celery
broccoli
basil
and there might be others that we missed!

If you are interested in any of these plants, please let us know how many you would like and when you can pick up. Pick-up times are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM. E-mail your requests to [email protected].

👨‍🌾 Need seeds? We got 'em!

We have a wide selection of seeds that we are happy to share with you. Just let us know how many packets you need and of what plants, and we can make arrangements for you to pick up as many seeds as you can use. Pick-up times are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM. E-mail your requests to [email protected].

👨‍🌾 Interested in a green wall?

You may have heard about our "green wall" offer over the past two years, and you may even have picked one up from us already. The walls are roughly 4 feet by 4 feet and contain 49 pockets to grow a wide variety of plants. If you would like one for your garden, please come to the London Food Bank during our operating hours (Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM). Please let us know you plan to come by sending an e-mail to [email protected].

Also, if you are splitting hostas in your gardens this year and are looking to donate any, we would appreciate them to help stop deer from coming into the gardens and fruit orchard. Planting hostas around the perimeter of our growing area will invite them to eat the hostas instead of going after our vegetable plants and trees. 🦌

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at [email protected].

Gr 3/4-6 also welcomed Marty Chan live from Alberta, for 3 hilarious and engaging presentations on how to use Cheat Codes in our writing.

Last week grades 1-3 visited with Brenda Lee Gladman, author of the delightful new book Li et le Nouvel An Spectalunaire.

We will have both authors’ books for sale very soon on School Cash Online and of course both authors’ books will be in our collection very soon!

Both authors visited thanks to generous support from KP School Council.

The best story in each grade receives their choice of a book of their choice or a KP toque with BLING!

All students are welcome to come to Le Nid to explore our Black History collection, and explore calming mindfulness activities for the rest of the month. As always we are a safe space for all people.

Coming soon: March Makedo Cardboard challenge! And a cool new way to code our microbits to build a drone…
