Adult 1st prize: $1500 | Youth 1st prize: $500
Adult writers are age 19 years and older
Youth are up to 19 years of age on or before March 15, 2023
The winning entry will be the Canadian work of up to 2,500 words in the English language, fiction, written by an author not yet published in book format. Winners will be announced at the 2023 Festival with simultaneous media release.

King's is one of the annual co-sponsors of the Writer in Residence program in the English Department at Western University. This year's Writer in Residence, January Rogers (Mohawk/Tuscarora, from Six Nations of the Grand River), is coming to King's to give a reading on Wednesday, Nov. 16th, at 11:30am in Vitali Lounge. The event is being organized by The Write Place.
