I’m Lola, the founder of Hummuani Sewing Academy

A trained fashion designer with a Diploma in Fashion Design and Techniques from George Brown College, and I have many years of experience in the fashion and bridal industry.

I’m passionate about creating a safe, welcoming and encouraging environment where children can discover sewing, develop practical skills and have fun being creative. 🧵✨

8-WEEK BEGINNER SEWING ACADEMY

Learn. Create. Sew.

Give your child the opportunity to learn a practical, creative and confidence-building skill they can enjoy for years to come! 💜

Sewing teaches children patience, focus, creativity, hand-eye coordination and independence — while giving them the satisfaction of saying:

“I made this myself!” ✂️🧵

👧 AGES 6–8 | 60 MINUTES
Children will learn:
• Sewing machine safety & basic operation
• Hand-sewing basics
• How to sew straight lines
• Fabric & colour selection
• Simple creative projects
• How to safely use sewing tools

🧒 AGES 9–12 | 90 MINUTES
Children will learn:
• Sewing machine skills & safety
• Seams & seam allowances
• Fabric cutting & preparation
• Basic pattern reading
• Simple garment construction
• Zippers, elastic & basic finishing
• Fun projects they can take home and be proud of!

Your child won't just sit and watch — they will learn by doing.

By the end of the 8 weeks, children will have developed practical sewing skills and created projects they can proudly say they made themselves.
