🏐 JUNIOR BOYS HOME TOURNAMENT 🏐

What a great day of volleyball at Hillmond! Our Junior Boys hosted their home tournament with teams from Meadow Lake (Jonas Samson), Loon Lake (Ernie Studer), Edam and Pierceland.

The boys played hard, battled through some great games, and brought home the GOLD! 🥇

🏆 1st – Hillmond
🥈 2nd – Loon Lake (Ernie Studer)
🥉 3rd – Edam

A huge THANK YOU to all of our parents who helped make the tournament run so smoothly. We couldn’t do it without you!

And thank you to some of our senior boys and girls who gave up their time to ref and scorekeep throughout the day. We appreciate you!

Leah had a great opportunity to attend the Saskatchewan Roughriders Girls Summit, in Saskatoon. It was a wonderful day of learning, developing leadership skills and networking with other like minded girls from across the region.

Today as part of Orange Shirt Day and Truth and Reconciliation Week, our K-3 students made orange hearts.
We talked about students in residential schools who were away from their families for long periods of time and that we are lucky to have the love of our families each and every day. They shared all the special ways they are loved. They took their hearts home to be warmed by their loved ones hands and to come back filled with courage and love (and smelling like home). They would have these hearts to help to be brave on hard days.
As the end of the day approached many students met their parents at the door, stuffing those hearts in pockets telling them about what that little orange heart meant. We know those little hearts will come back filled with love and kindness.
We also took the time to fill out paper chains showing how each of us were special and how to be kind to each other.

Kindergarten is hosting a Cupcake Sale on Friday, October 2nd during lunch to raise money for our Corn Maze field trip!

Cupcakes are $2 each. Please note we are initially limiting purchases to one a person until everyone has a chance to buy!

I’m trying something new this year! 🎉

I am going to schedule a few “Pull Up a Chair With Mrs. Pero” in person chat sessions for anyone wanting to attend.

There will be coffee ☕️ and snacks 🍪 and good conversation about the things that matter…YOUR KIDS! 🧒 👦

All you have to do (yes there is a bit of homework 📚 prior to our gatherings) is take an hour to listen to the Podcast “Good Inside With Dr. Becky: The Anxious Generation with Jonathan Haidt.” This will be our first session topic!
