What do you get when you combine cardboard, tape, creativity, teamwork, and Sandy Beach? The annual Grade 8 STEM Cardboard Boat Challenge! πŸš£πŸ“¦

Students from E.S. Laird Middle School and Bishop Lloyd Middle School worked in teams of four, armed with only a roll of duct tape, packing tape, and cardboard, to design and build a boat capable of floating and travelling on water.
What’s more, one team member had to paddle their creation in a series of heats against the competition.

Hands-on learning was on full display as students put their problem-solving, design, and engineering skills to the test, with a few spectacular sinkings along the way. πŸ˜„

Congratulations to this year's champions from E.S. Laird, who paddled their way to victory! πŸ†

Grade 2–4 students at Jack Kemp Community School were lucky enough to head to FAME Dance Studio to learn some breakdancing moves and explore a new style of dance.

These classes were once again made possible through a grant from the infusion.festival helping bring unique danceexperiences to our students. Thank you to everyone involved for making this opportunity possible!
