What do you get when you combine cardboard, tape, creativity, teamwork, and Sandy Beach? The annual Grade 8 STEM Cardboard Boat Challenge! π£π¦
Students from E.S. Laird Middle School and Bishop Lloyd Middle School worked in teams of four, armed with only a roll of duct tape, packing tape, and cardboard, to design and build a boat capable of floating and travelling on water.
Whatβs more, one team member had to paddle their creation in a series of heats against the competition.
Hands-on learning was on full display as students put their problem-solving, design, and engineering skills to the test, with a few spectacular sinkings along the way. π
Congratulations to this year's champions from E.S. Laird, who paddled their way to victory! π

Grade 2β4 students at Jack Kemp Community School were lucky enough to head to FAME Dance Studio to learn some breakdancing moves and explore a new style of dance.
These classes were once again made possible through a grant from the infusion.festival helping bring unique danceexperiences to our students. Thank you to everyone involved for making this opportunity possible!
