Today, October 5th, is World Teachers’ Day! 📚🍎 We are so grateful for our teachers and the countless ways they support, encourage, teach, and inspire our students every day.

To our custodians and teachers: thank you for everything you do for our St. Mary’s Royals! We appreciate you more than you know! 🩵👑

👑🌟 September Royals of the Month! 🌟👑

We are so excited to introduce two brand-new traditions at St. Mary’s!

❤️ Royal of the Month — Each month, we will celebrate students who live out our school virtue. September’s virtue was Hospitality — welcoming others as Jesus would, including others, helping those around us, and making sure everyone feels valued and that they belong. ❤️

🏆 Royal Athletes of the Month — We are also celebrating students who demonstrate outstanding athletic ability, while showing hard work, teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance, and Royal pride! 👑

Congratulations to all of our September Royals! Thank you for helping make St. Mary’s A Kingdom Where All Belong and for using your God-given gifts to make our school community stronger. 🩵🤍

We are so proud of you, Royals! 👑✨

🧡 What a meaningful day of reflection, learning, and remembrance at St. Mary’s for Orange Shirt Day. 🧡

Our Royals spent the day learning, listening, and reflecting in many different ways. Students had the opportunity to learn the Indigenous Michif language, participate in Truth and Reconciliation activities at the Servus Sports Centre, paint rocks to place in our school yard as a reminder that Every Child Matters, and take part in meaningful learning activities right here in our classrooms.

It was wonderful to see so many of our students and staff wearing orange today as we remember residential school survivors, honour those who were impacted, and continue learning about the importance of Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡

📚✨ A big thank you to Director Glenda Kary and LCSD Board of Trustee members Jarett Fischer, Laurie Makichuk, and Andrea Zerr for joining our Kindergarten students today!

Our students loved sharing their stories and experiences with you—and then getting to hear you read them a story! ❤️📖

Thank you for taking the time to connect with our youngest Royals and make reading so special! 👑📚
