As much fun as we had at One Act, the trip was rougher than anticipated on our props and sets. Tonight’s showcase will be postponed, and we’ll be taking this evening to regroup and repair what we can.
Our Showcase for Wednesday night will continue as planned and we will be posting an updated second performance date very soon! Stay tuned!

Last but not least, we’ve got to give a shout out to all of those working behind the scenes for our One Act productions - specifically, Ethan Marchant, Halle Wilchynski, Sydney Baker, Sophie Graham, and London Guy, along with all of our cast members who stepped in to help as crew members in addition to being performers! We couldn’t have done it without this team!

Our Final One Act Play selection is “Anniversary”, by Rachel Bonds, which was directed by Grade 11 Student, Zion Verigan, and was the winner of Best Crew and Best Lighting Design (Ethan Marchant). This show stars Amara Oster, Aaron Sutherland, Izzy Willis, Breton MacMillan, Janat Aqeil, Rainiel DelaCruz, Devin Chahley, Kylie Montaneau, Abby Bailey, Lauren VanMale, and Michael Welch.
“Anniversary” is a story of loss, grief, and learning to live and love fully alongside these feelings. It’s meaningful exploration of navigating the death of a loved one as the world around you moves on and forward, is touching, and hopeful, and will certainly move the hearts of audiences.
Come on out to the Baron’s Court Theatre this Monday and Wednesday to support the cast of “Anniversary” - entry is by donation to the LCHS Drama Department, and helps support our attendance at events like One Act Festival, as well as bringing our musicals and other performances to our community. We can’t wait to see you all this week, cheering on our student performers, directors, technicians and crew!

Our Second One Act, “The Puppet Master” was written by own Mr. Jeffery, and was directed by Grade 12 student, Daivanee Wallace. It stars Devin Chahley, winner of Best Actor, Breton MacMillan, winner of Best Supporting Actor, Gabby Lampow, Kalli Forbes, Seige Fiissel, Kylie Montaneau, Izzy Willis, Aaron Sutherland, John Artiga, Janat Aqeil, Emmy Giroux, and Michael Welch.
Daivanee chose “The Puppet Master” because, despite nearly 20 years since it was published, the negative impact of rumours and gossip still remains a part of the high school experience. Her hope in bringing this to the stage is to challenge the audiences’ perceptions of the power of a “harmless” rumour. Come on out to the Baron’s Court Theatre on Monday and Wednesday to take in this piece celebrating both the talents of our students and our teachers. Doors open at 5:30 - show begins at 6:00 PM!
