Very excited about our big spring project, we're getting the driveway paved! It's both an improvement for our home and for the daycare/school. We are so excited for a summer filled with bikes, scooters, chalk and basketball fun!
It's also going to make snow shovelling so much easier :)

We have hit a big milestone this week! We have read over 100 beginner reading books independently!
We are not following UFLI or The Science of Reading Curriculum but taking pieces of both and making our own curriculum focused on decodable reading books progressing from CVC words, blending letters, digraphs, and silent E long vowels. Wish us luck for the next milestone as we start exploring vowel teams!

Last week we had an art and music filled week! After a trip to Kawartha Gymnastics we drew pictures of our favourite activities. Later in the week we also took a trip to watch the clarinet choir from the kawartha Lakes Concert band and got to admire the clarinets up close and explore how the bigger the clarinet the deeper the sound it made. That inspired us to practice our own music on the desk bells and making great music of our own. Excited to see what's in store for this week

What have we been up to this week? To beat the cold we took a trip to Kawartha Gymnastic and had a blast!
We've been having a math centred week reviewing a lot of concepts we've learned from patterning, place value, shapes and more. Looking forward to tomorrow's P.A Day and having some of our other friends join us for the day

The Christmas season & a looming new year brings on reflecting for a lot of people, reflecting on 2025 it has been a hard year, The Old Farm House has had a lot of up and downs that Jamal and I have not shared with everyone, but through the perseverance we've seen the blessing we've got from everyone around us sending their love, encouragement, and support. This Christmas along with all the love we were gifted we were given supplies and resources for the Old Farm House, and a brand new beautiful handmade sign we hope to hang up front when the snow settles down a little bit!
2026 will bring new challenges but we hope to overcome them with everyone we have behind us
