Dr. Sean Fitzpatrick, University of Lethbridge mathematics instructor, doesn’t mind seeing his students fail. In fact, he encourages his students to take chances and push beyond their comfort zones, accepting that mistakes will happen and that’s where true learning begins. One of the most popular instructors on campus, he understands the student perspective and tailors his teaching to minimize anxiety and elevate understanding.

If the app detects strange behaviour, it will alert the user.

Congrats to Dr. Sean Fitzpatrick!

Congratulations to Dr. Sean Fitzpatrick, an instructor in the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science, for being named winner of the 2022 University of Lethbridge Excellence in Teaching Award.

Fitzpatrick came to ULethbridge in 2014 and over the course of the last eight years, has taught 14 different courses ranging from introductory to senior level and from algebra to calculus and specialized topics such as topology. He earned his bachelor’s in mathematics and physics at the University of Winnipeg, then earned a master's and PhD in mathematics at the University of Toronto.

Fitzpatrick will be honoured at the Fall 2022 Convocation ceremony.
