Behind every thriving community, every breakthrough in innovation, and every step toward equity, there is a teacher.

Today on , and throughout the year, let's celebrate our teachers and support teachers around the world.

Tomorrow, all Palliser schools will be closed in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Across our division, students and staff have been engaging in meaningful learning about the history and legacy of residential schools. Last week, Coalhurst Elementary School hosted a special assembly welcoming Elder Charlie Fox and Knowledge Keeper Sheldon Day Chief as honoured guests. Charlie shared his firsthand experiences, emphasizing education as a vital path toward reconciliation, culture preservation, and mutual understanding. Sheldon offered wisdom through song and drumming, reminding us of the power of compassion and togetherness.

For families wishing to continue learning and reflecting together at home, here are a few resources to help get started.

☀️ It was a beautiful day, and a great day to be together!

Palliser staff gathered in Vulcan for Opening Day, reconnecting, learning and getting ready for the year ahead. We were inspired by a powerful message from Dr. Luis F. Cruz and challenged to keep thinking about how we can make our schools even better places for EVERY student 💙💛

Now there’s just one thing missing… our students!

We’re almost ready for 2026/27, and we can’t wait to welcome you back! 🎒✨
