On Tuesday, September 29, St. Paul School received a meaningful gift, one that will become part of the school’s identity for years to come.

During a special naming ceremony, Elder Andrew Black Plume gifted the school its Blackfoot name: Naatowapinna Iitaissksinima’tstohkio’p, Meaning “Holy Man School”. School not in the sense of a building but where you come together to learn.

For St. Paul, becoming Naatowapinna Iitaissksinima’tstohkio’p, is not simply about receiving a Blackfoot name. It is about receiving a blessing, sharing in culture and carrying forward a meaningful connection between faith, community, and place.

Students and staff gathered in a circle dance to commemorate the occasion, celebrating together as one community. The ceremony concluded with everyone sharing cake together, celebrating the spirit of unity and belonging.
