What started as a simple lesson meeting curricular learning outcomes writing emails, turned into something much bigger for grade 9’s at LCI. With some helpful guidance from their teacher, students sent out their emails to a broad spectrum of authors, athletes, musicians, doctors, professors, business entrepreneurs, and politicians. The responses they got back were profound and inspiring. The number of people willing to answer a cold email from a student was amazing. Today, one of those email recipients took time out their busy schedule to surprise one of the classes. Mayor Hyggen came to speak to students from Mr. Wegner’s class and answer their email with a personal touch. Thank you for taking time to connect with your future constituents and share words of wisdom with the kids who reached out to you!
