We’ve been quiet around this space for the last year, but that doesn’t mean nothing has been happening!

We adapted and transitioned over the last year with respect to Covid 19 restrictions in each of our locations and though it wasn’t what we expected nor always the ideal, it was a great year on all accounts.

As it did for so many people, operating in a pandemic helped us to rethink a few things and gave us new vision for the future of Corpus Christi in regard to form, delivery, and operations. We’re so excited for a couple of big changes that will be implemented for the 2021/22 year.

In order to make Corpus more accessible to as many people as possible, we are dropping the tuition from $1200 to $500. We’re very excited that we can now take this step!

In the upcoming year we are also very excited about our transition to using the 2019 Book of Common Prayer to establish daily rhythms. This will replace our journals and help establish a daily prayer and scripture reading discipline which can be carried on into life after Corpus.

Zoom participation will be available if you wish to join us online. The program and program cost will remain the same whether in person or online. If you have a interested group in your church but have never run Corpus before, please talk to us about ways of implementing Corpus Christi in your local church body.

There are some things that won’t change this year! As always, Phase I seeks to explore who God is while Phase II focuses on who we are and how we’re meant to live in the world as God’s people. We continue to be excited about the ways Corpus has transitioned and grown since it’s earliest beginnings and are looking forward to classes beginning September 12th, 2021.

Registration is open now. Click the link in our bio to learn more and sign up today!

If you have any question or would like to speak to someone, please contact us. We’d love to connect.

The Repentant Saint Mary Magdalene; Domenico Fetti (ca. 1617-21)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today is the Feast of St. Mary Magdalene, a celebrated disciple of Christ, famous, according to Mark 16:9–10 and John 20:14–17, for being the first person to see the resurrected Christ and called by the church a "true and authentic evangelizer."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
St Mary Magdalene,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
you came with springing tears⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
to the spring of mercy, Christ;⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
from him your burning thirst was abundantly refreshed;⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
through him your sins were forgiven;⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
by him your bitter sorrow was consoled.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My dearest lady,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
well you know by your own life⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
how a sinful soul can be reconciled with its creator,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
what counsel a soul in misery needs,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
what medicine will restore the sick to health.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is enough for us to understand, dear friend of God,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
to whom were “many sins forgiven, because she loved much”.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Most blessed lady,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I who am the most evil and sinful of men⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
do not recall your sins as a reproach,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
but call upon the boundless mercy⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
by which they were blotted out.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is my reassurance, so that I do not despair;⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
this is my longing, so that I shall not perish.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-A prayer of St. Anselm, in part⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

A Prayer for the Feast Day of St Mary Magdalene⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Almighty God, whose blessed Son restored Mary Magdalene to health of body and of mind, and called her to be a witness of his resurrection: Mercifully grant that, by your grace, we may be healed from all our infirmities and know you in the power of his unending life; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, now and for ever. Amen. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We wish you all could have been there to hear our students share their year end testimonies this year. We were moved to worship God for his faithfulness and goodness as we heard student after student share what they learned and how they were changed by God through the year. Through teaching, daily discipleship practices in prayer and scripture, and community we see God transform and make himself more known to his people.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pauline's testimony of a life of discipleship (of which Corpus has been just a part) captures this so perfectly. Though she may not have the words (yet!) discipleship has produced amazing fruit and Christ-likeness in her.

In the New Testament, Joseph - the earthly father of Christ, never speaks a word, yet his impact on the world is undeniable. As a man of deep faith and conviction, he stands by Mary, even when the cost is high, and commits to raising the Son of God in faith and love. The circumstances surrounding his fatherhood were far from traditional, far from 'ideal' - but he stepped up into his call to fatherhood and in doing so, reflected the heart of our Heavenly Father to us all. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today, in a special way, let us be grateful for those men who love us, support us, and take on the paternal role of guiding us through life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
____________⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
O Lord our God, creator of heaven and earth, through your Son Jesus Christ you have revealed yourself as a heavenly Father to all of your children. Bless, we pray, all earthly fathers. Strengthen them to nurture, protect, and guide the children entrusted to their care. Instill within them the virtues of love and patience. May they be slow to anger and quick to forgive. And through the ministrations of your Holy Spirit, may all fathers be strong and steadfast examples of faithfulness, responsibility, and loving-kindness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The Sunday after Pentecost Sunday is known and celebrated as Trinity Sunday. Today we are invited to live in the awareness of the presence of the Triune God within us: The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The mystery of the Holy Trinity is one of the fundamental doctrines of Christianity and the greatest mystery of our Faith, namely, that there are Three Divine Persons, sharing the same Divine nature in one God. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Andrei Rublev’s icon has been the Church’s attempt to express what cannot be spoken and portray what cannot be seen. Three persons, distinct but not separate. They look just alike though dressed in different colored robes. They share the same expression. Their bodies and postures are alike and form a circle of unity and oneness. Three persons; one life, one love, one beauty. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With space at the table for us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Trinity Sunday is a feast of this love and communion shared within the Trinity, a feast of sharing and giving, a feast of mystery that invites human beings to participate in God’s life. The Christian Church ponders with joy and thanksgiving what the Father, Son and Holy Spirit have done to draw us into God's kingdom. We are brought to the remembrance of how Christians should respond to the love God has shown for us, praising Him and giving Him glory. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
May the Son lead us to the Father through the Spirit, to live with the Triune God forever and ever.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
________⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A Collect for Trinity Sunday⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us your servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of your divine Majesty to worship the Unity: Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last to see you in your one and eternal glory, O Father; who with the Son and the Holy Spirit live and reign, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Almighty God, you created us in your own image: Grant us grace to contend fearlessly against evil and to make no peace with oppression; and help us to use our freedom rightly in the establishment of justice in our communities and among the nations, to the glory of your holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. (BCP 2019, pg. 659)

On the Day of Pentecost a strong wind swept through a house where Jesus’ followers gathered 50 days after he was resurrected from the dead. It was in the city of Jerusalem, where Jewish pilgrims gathered to celebrate and people from other cultures who spoke diverse languages — believers and non believers of Jesus, heard about God’s powerful works in their native tongues and felt God’s holy presence.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The barriers created by race, language, differing faith traditions, and social class were dismantled by the Holy wind that blew on humanity and in their place, a picture of what is to be was drawn. The even rule of God over his people.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because of the Gospel and the Spirit sent at Pentecost the way in which we live in community with others is a spiritual issue. The way we treat others is a spiritual issue. The way in which we respond to others is a spiritual issue. Within each of our respective communities, with all our differences, we are called to relate to our neighbors as our brothers and sisters, the family of God.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pentecost stands as a witness to the possibility of more than what we experience in the world currently. It stands as a fixed point in our Christian story, calling us all back to the dismantling of barriers and the unification of humanity under the even rule of God. Today, in a world that is hurting, we pray the words of the collect and ask that God would 'pour out this gift anew.'
_____________
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A Collect for the Day of Pentecost
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Almighty God, on this day, through the outpouring of the
Holy Spirit, you revealed the way of eternal life to every race and nation: Pour out this gift anew, that by the preaching of
the Gospel your salvation may reach to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

is a good friend and an amazing artist. I have been blessed for many years by the prophetic gift he displays through his art.

This is a reflection on Matt. 28:2, where the angel rolls the stone away and sits on it. Life, exploding from the grave even while the stone is only partially rolled away.
