What happens when your instructor is also actively involved in the cattle industry?

As AgENT program co-ordinator, Joshua Leith helps students build skills in innovation and entrepreneurship while continuing to work within his family’s cattle operation.

A graduate of both the Agriculture Sciences – Animal Science and Agriculture Business programs, Joshua says his farm experience helps students understand how entrepreneurial thinking applies across industries — even in unexpected ways.
“Many students are shocked on how knowledgeable this ‘farm kid’ actually is and how I can help them move their ideas forward.”

Joshua also stays connected with former AgENT participants, following their successes and helping support the next generation of innovators.

What happens when your instructor is still actively serving in law enforcement?

School of Justice Studies instructor Paolo Magliocco brings more than a decade of front-line policing experience into the classroom while continuing to serve with the Lethbridge Police Service.

Since joining the service in 2012, Paolo has worked in patrol operations, Economic Crimes, Violent Crimes and Public Order Units, and now serves as a patrol sergeant. That ongoing work allows him to provide students with real-time insight into the ever-evolving policing profession.

Paolo says seeing former students succeed in the field is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.
