Leduc Little People Day Home

For Letter K week everyone had the chance to be King (Queen) of the day. The kids got to pick the daily activities and snacks...some made healthy choice...and some did not. Sydney chose to paint, color, and go to the park. She wanted to play dress up as well which is why all the boys are still in costume at the park. lol, they got a lot of looks walking down the street. King Ruyn wanted to go fishing, bug hunting, and bike riding. Sabian's day was all about Spiderman! He has talked about Spiderman cake everyday since he joined us lol...so we had cake!...and played games. It didn't take the kids long to realize that it is easier to just climb underneath the "web". Brendan LOVES to go for walks so we spent the day hiking down the trails to see what we could find. Fun week!

To learn about our Sense of Hearing we played with Bubble wrap, Played Freeze Dance, and Simon says at the park. Below is Sydney enjoying the sound of Bubble wrap as she ran across it. Everyone had to use their listening ears today so it was a great day! lol.

We explored our Sense of Taste with a taste test. 3 boys participated and were great sports. If they could, they were asked to describe what they were tasting, but the expression on their faces generally said it all. Later we read a book about how Butterflies taste with their feet and then ventured out on a Butterfly hunt.

To explore our sense of smell we made Collage art using different kinds of Spices, made our own scented paint, and then headed out for a walk/bike ride "to stop and smell the roses"...among other things.

To learn about our sense of sight we did Blind drawing, Played a memory and observation game. and played "I Spy" in the park.

Hey Parents, with this whole measles epidemic going around I will need parents to bring in copies of immunizations to ensure all children are up to date. Also, please do not bring your child if they are showing signs of cold/flu, and let me know if they have had a fever. Including runny noses and coughing as these could be signs of measles. My Dexy has a lowered immune system so Just fair warning that I will be enforcing the illness policy more strictly than in the past, as per his dr.s orders. Thank you.

Our Z and zero salt dough craft was morphed into more creative works of art...Jakey made a storm and used play food as tornados, Brendan made a garbage truck, Dexter and Sabian made snakes...there was quite the story line attached with each creation. Lol. Great imaginations.
