At Roosevelt School in Union City, New Jersey, students are doing more than learning a language they're using it. They log into SmartClass from their laptops to speak, listen, and build the confidence that comes from actually using what they know.

The Multilingual Learner and Bilingual programs at Union City Public Schools have created something special: classrooms where every student gets the chance to practice out loud, get instant feedback, and grow at their own pace.

Celebrating innovation in Costa Rica!

Our CEO recently traveled across Costa Rica alongside our partners at ICE Electronics to recognize the schools and educators who are redefining what language learning can look like and to present them with the SmartClass Innovative School Award.

Notable examples of their leadership include the implementation of SmartClass for colleges across the Republic during the pandemic, and the development of a highly advanced Proficiency Level Test.
🎓 Liceo Experimental Bilingüe José Figueres Ferrer: The first experimental bilingual high school in Costa Rica and a true innovation hub. Home to 675 students and a newly acquired 32-station SmartClass language laboratory, the school lives by the mission: "Educamos para transformar vidas."

We surveyed 100+ students at Union City Public Schools about their experience with SmartClass, and the results say everything about what active learning really looks like:

Speaking, Listening, and AI Conversation topped the list of favorite activities students want to use the language, not just study it.
47% redo every activity until they score 100% and another 20.9% redo frequently.
87% feel more confident in their language skills.
88% want SmartClass in their other subjects too.
