Genesis students & staff were honored to welcome the Deer family from KahnawĂ :ke. Through storytelling, song, and dance, they shared their culture, traditions, and wisdom with our students.
Experiences like these help us learn, reflect, and continue our journey toward truth and reconciliation.

At Genesis Elementary, we wear orange to honor survivors of residential schools, to remember those who never returned home, and to STAND together for truth & reconciliation.

Today and every day, we commit to listening, learning, and building a future of respect & hope.

In 1980, Terry had a dream of a world without cancer. Forty-five years later, Terry's Marathon of Hope lives on. Genesis Elementary is lacing up once again to keep Terry's dream alive. Together, we can FINISH IT.

We invite our families and community to join us in supporting this important cause by making a donation. Every contribution makes a difference!

A true hero among us! We are so proud of your courage and kindness Zach!

PROUD MOMENT!!! 🫶
This evening, the Council of Commissioners had the honour of welcoming Zach, a student from Genesis Elementary, to the final Council meeting of the school year.

Genesis Elementary School student Zach was recently awarded a Citizenship Bursary at the 2025 Laurier Gala for a truly courageous act, supporting a loved one through a bone marrow transplant. His gesture touched everyone on Council, and tonight, they officially recognized him for his kindness, selflessness, and quiet strength.

Zach was joined by his dad and took a moment to meet with Chairperson James Di Sano and Director General Russell Copeman. His actions remind us of the power one person, no matter how young, can have in making a difference.

Zach, ton geste de compassion et de courage est remarquable et inspirant. Merci de démontré qu’il n’y a pas d’âge pour faire une différence. Nous sommes très fiers de toi!

👏 Bravo, Zach. We are so proud of you.
