Reality check: Your salary doesn't determine your worth as a human being.

I know this sounds obvious, but stick with me.

But here's what I've learned (and what I wish someone had told me during my own career struggles):

You are not your job title.
You are not your income bracket.
You are not your LinkedIn headline.

We've been conditioned to believe that professional success = personal worth. That if you're not constantly climbing, earning more, achieving bigger milestones, you're somehow falling behind as a person.

But I've seen executives at the top who feel empty inside. And I've met people between jobs who radiate confidence and self-worth.

The difference? They've learned to separate their identity from their career metrics.

Here's the truth: You can lose a job and still be talented.

You can have a "bad" financial year and still be valuable.

You can be figuring things out and still be exactly where you need to be.

Your worth was never up for negotiation. It doesn't fluctuate with market conditions or performance reviews.

It's yours. It always has been.

3 signs your "good" money habits are actually fear:

1️⃣ You check your bank account multiple times a day
2️⃣ You feel anxious about small purchases you can easily afford
3️⃣ You create endless spreadsheets trying to control every financial scenario

After 20 years in banking, I thought this was just being "responsible."

Reality check: I was using financial control as a coping mechanism for childhood fears.

The moment I lost everything as a kid (when Dad died and we went from comfortable to counting coins for food), my brain learned: "Control every penny or disaster strikes."

But here's what I discovered: The more tightly I gripped my money, the more it controlled my peace.

The exhausting truth? Hypervigilance isn't wellness, it's burnout wearing a responsibility mask.

Real financial wellness isn't about perfect control. It's about conscious choices made from calm, not panic.

I wrote about my journey from financial obsession to financial peace in my latest newsletter—including the simple practice that helped me distinguish between care and compulsion (spoiler: it involves admitting my "perfect" habits were actually prison bars).

If this resonates, you're not alone. And there's a gentler way forward.

When we overspend, who really pays the price?

It’s not just your credit card bill.

It’s the garment worker in an unsafe factory.

The river polluted by overproduction.

The inner peace that slowly erodes each time we try to buy our way out of discomfort.

We think we’re treating ourselves…

But sometimes, we’re just trying to soothe ourselves with things we don’t need, hoping they’ll fix feelings we haven’t named.

In this week’s newsletter, I’m digging into the real cost of overconsumption — the invisible price tags behind impulse spending, and the small mindset shifts that make a big difference.

Let’s talk about money with more mindfulness and more humanity.

What if your financial habits are just emotional patterns in disguise?

Let’s be real.

Not all spending is logical.

Sometimes, we buy things not because we need them… but, just because…

We’re tired.
We’re anxious.
We want to feel something.

I’ve been reflecting on this a lot (personally and professionally) and one pattern keeps showing up:

Spending to self-soothe.

It’s sneaky. You click add to cart thinking it’ll bring relief. And maybe it does—for a few hours.

But here’s what I’ve learned:
Financial wellness isn’t about how much you earn.

It’s about how well you understand your emotional relationship with money.

Because money doesn’t erase fear, shame, or scarcity. It amplifies what’s already there.

So if your Amazon orders are creeping up…

Maybe it’s not about the sale.

Maybe it’s about something deeper.

Let’s talk about money with more care, honesty, and self-compassion.

You’re not alone in this.

🚩 5 Signs You're "Financially Unwell" (Even If Your Bank Says Otherwise)

I’ve worked in finance for 20+ years, and some days, I still don’t feel financially “well.”

Because it’s not just about income, credit scores, or having a “perfect” budget.

Sometimes it looks like this:
— You’re making more, but still anxious about money
— You avoid checking your bank account
— You impulse shop to soothe stress
— You keep falling into the same money patterns
— You feel like you should know better, but don’t know where to begin

A recent health scare made me realize:

If we treat our health with care, structure, and support…

Why don’t we do the same with our money?

This month, I’m choosing a new kind of financial wellness.

One rooted in presence, not perfection.

And I’m starting with one simple act: asking for help.

Unpopular opinion: Your financial stress might not be about money at all.

It might be about how you’re living.

A few weeks ago, my blood pressure spiked to stroke-level danger.

That was my wake-up call.

Not just for my health…

But for how I was living and spending my life.

I realized I had zero structure. Just reacting to everything.

What helped me bounce back?

A 10-step morning routine.

A peaceful wind-down at night.

And a new realization: Financial wellness starts with structure.

This week’s newsletter walks you through the overlooked habit that changed everything for me and how it can help your bank account, too.

Most people think building wealth requires doing more.

More hustle. More strategy. More risk.

But what if the real secret… is doing less?

Consistently. Quietly. Boringly.

This week’s newsletter is about the money habit no one brags about, but the wealthy swear by: compounding.

Inside, I’m breaking down:

✨Why small habits > big moves
✨How a simple 3% vs 8% return changes everything
✨And the mindset shift that turns “I’m behind” into “I’m building”

If you’re ready to stop overcomplicating your money journey and start building real, generational wealth, this one’s for you.

It’s simple. It’s slow. It’s kind of boring.

And that’s exactly why it works.

You can follow every money rule in the book… and still feel broke.

That’s what I’ve realized after years of supporting women entrepreneurs, business coaches, and startup founders with their money goals.

You can have:
✔️ A detailed budget
✔️ A smart investment plan
✔️ All the right financial tools
…but if you don’t believe you’re good with money, none of it sticks.

That’s the part we skip.

And it’s the one thing that makes the biggest difference.

Because your brain will always try to prove your beliefs right.

If you believe you’re bad with money, you’ll avoid your bank app.

If you think you can’t be trusted with savings, you’ll spend impulsively.

If you think you’re behind, you’ll stay stuck in shame.

That’s why this week’s newsletter isn’t about strategy.

It’s about the belief shift that actually moves the needle.

Inside the article, I’ll share:
— Why your mindset matters more than your money plan
— What belief to build before you budget
— 5 simple ways to start rewiring your relationship with money today

If you’ve ever whispered “I’m just not good with money”…. this is for you.

Lately, I've noticed a trend where more and more entrepreneurs are diving into DIY investing.

As someone who’s been both an investor and a financial advisor, I get it—the idea of taking control of your own money and making investment decisions feels empowering.

But here’s the thing: managing your own investments isn’t as easy as it sounds.

The biggest challenge? Controlling your emotions when the market doesn’t go your way.

Even experienced investors can fall into the trap of thinking they can outsmart the market—only to watch their “sure thing” take a nosedive.

If you’re considering the DIY route, it’s crucial to start with the right mindset and a simple, effective strategy.

In my latest newsletter, I’m breaking down the 5 essential steps to get started with confidence—without the overwhelm.

You don’t need to wait until you have 6 figures in savings to start investing.

You don’t need to know everything about the market.

And you definitely don’t need to wait until you “have it all figured out.”

You just need a simple starting point—and a little guidance.

I used to think investing was only for people with spreadsheets, financial advisors on speed dial, or thousands of dollars sitting in savings.

Turns out, that’s a myth.

This week, I’m breaking down how any woman entrepreneur, coach, or founder can begin investing in the stock market—with help from a bank advisor.

No guessing. No overwhelm. No gatekeeping.

Inside the newsletter, I’ll walk you through:

✅ How to open your first investment account
✅ The questions to ask your advisor
✅ Why small monthly investments matter more than big one-time bets
✅ And one bonus tip that makes all the difference for consistency

If you’ve been sitting on the sidelines wondering when to start…
Take this as your nudge.

Because financial freedom isn’t just about making more—it’s about making your money work for you.

05/12/2025

For months, I've been writing and talking about systems, automation, and how we help women entrepreneurs scale without burning out.

This month—this May, particularly—I’m shifting gears.

Because after everything that’s unfolded in my personal life and in the world lately, I’ve been asking myself:

What does security actually look like?

Not just financially—but emotionally and mentally, too.

So instead of just talking strategy, I’m inviting you into a deeper conversation:

Financial independence—what it really means, what it actually takes, and how I’m building it one step at a time.

I just published the first part of this journey in my latest newsletter.

It’s personal. It’s practical. And I think it’ll challenge the way you think about freedom.
