Happy Retirement, Mrs. Pilon! ❤️

Today, Mrs. Pilon waved off her very last buses at Thousand Islands Elementary School, closing the final chapter of a career that has touched the lives of so many.

As an Educational Assistant, she has made a lasting impact not only on the students she worked with directly, but on every student, staff member, and family lucky enough to know her. With a heart as big as her smile and a no-nonsense attitude that kept everyone on their toes, she had a way of making people feel supported, safe, and cared for. She wasn't afraid to tell it like it was, but everything she did came from a place of genuine love and compassion.

Now, here's the funny part... Mrs. Pilon would probably prefer we didn't make a fuss over her retirement. In fact, she'd likely tell us to stop making such a big deal about it. So naturally, we're going to do the exact opposite.

If you happen to see her around the village this summer, be sure to stop and wish her a very happy retirement with as much excitement as you can muster! If she asks who sent you... just tell her Ms. Jean/Desharnais did. 😉

Thank you, Mrs. Pilon, for your kindness, your dedication, your honesty. We wish you nothing but happiness, laughter, and well-deserved relaxation in this next chapter.

Happy Retirement, Ms. Zaky! ❤️

For many years, Ms. Zaky has been a constant presence in our classrooms and has touched the lives of countless students, families, and staff. She had a teaching style that was uniquely her own. Some may have called her strict, others may have described her as firm, but anyone who ever took a moment to peek into her classroom saw something much more important, a teacher who cared deeply for every child who walked through her door.

She believed in her students, challenged them to be their best, and celebrated their successes. Behind every lesson, every expectation, and every conversation was a heart that was dedicated to helping children learn, grow, and become confident in themselves.

We wish you nothing but happiness, good health, and many wonderful adventures in your retirement.

Today we celebrated our Grade 6 Send-Off, and what a special day it was!

We couldn't be prouder of this amazing group of students. We've watched them learn, grow, make memories, and keep us on our toes over the years. Now they're ready for their next adventure—and we're excited to see all the great things they'll accomplish.

A big thank you goes out to our staff who helped make today's send-off such a special event. Your time, creativity, and hard work made the day one to remember.

Thank you as well to our families for your support throughout the years. It truly takes a team to help our students reach this milestone.

To our Grade 6's: good luck at Intermediate School! Remember us when you're famous... and don't forget to come back and visit. Once a Timberwolf, always a Timberwolf! 🐾❤️

The privately run business 'Music in the Schools' Program is accepting new registrations for the 2026-27 school year at TIES!

The 'Music in the Schools' Program is accepting new registrations for the 2026-2027 school year at TIES.
We offer extracurricular 'one-on-one' in-school private music lessons, by ORMTA Certified teachers Margaret Armstrong (Piano Gr. 3-6) and Ted Paull (Guitar Gr. 3-6 / Ukulele Gr. 1-2) .
Classes are one half hour long, taught once a week during school hours throughout the school year.

Pre-Registration closes on June 30, 2026.
