John Mulaney Looking To ā€˜Get Smart’ At Warner Bros – The Dish

EXCLUSIVE: Talk about a dead ringer when it comes to casting: We’re getting word that 4x Emmy winner John Mulaney is eyeing to star as wisenheimer Agent Maxwell Smart in Warner Bros’ upcoming reimagining of Get Smart.

The project is early in the works with Now You See Me: Now You Don’t scribe Seth Grahame-Smith penning the screenplay. Chuck Roven and Andrew Lazar are producing.

The spy comedy series Get Smart was created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry and ran for 138 episodes from 1965-70. The first four seasons of the James Bond spoof aired on NBC, while the final season was shown on CBS. Don Adams starred as bumbling know-it-all agent Maxwell Smart (Agent 86) opposite Barbara Feldon (Agent 99) and Edward Platt, who played the Chief.

ā€˜You Can See Everything’ Review: Elizabeth Holmes Doc From Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim Is Fascinatingly Slippery, Dizzyingly Clever

The film — a surprise world premiere at Telluride — picks up the story of the disgraced Theranos founder in the weeks leading up to her prison sentence, and then again two years into her incarceration.
Elizabeth Holmes would like you to know that she has never lied. Not just about Theranos — about anything ever, she insists, her startlingly large eyes shining with conviction. She’s only been misunderstood because she thinks so differently, or misrepresented by outside parties pushing their own cynical agenda.

You Can See Everything, a new documentary about the billionaire turned convicted fraudster, is ostensibly her attempt to change all that. In the spirit of radical transparency, she intends to finally get her real story out there, once and for all.

Nicole Kidman Wanted To Star In A ā€˜Dune’ Film But Denis Villeneuve ā€œNever Asksā€ To Work Together: ā€œI’m Obsessedā€

Although Nicole Kidman has no shortage of roles to keep her busy, don’t expect her to make an appearance in the Dune franchise.

The Oscar-winning actress recently expressed regret that Denis Villeneuve never asked her to star in his trilogy based on Frank Herbert’s space opera, admitting she’d ā€œjust want to watchā€ the movies instead.

ā€œI’d love to be in the Dune sequel. I’m a ā€˜Dunie’. I’m obsessed with Dune. I’m obsessed,ā€ she said on Vogue’s Off the Cuff, when Sandra Bullock asked her why she’s not in the franchise. ā€œBecause Denis never asks me to be in anything. It’s devastating.ā€

Inde Navarrette to Star in Sci-Fi Thriller ā€˜The Waffle House Index’ for Apple Original Films.

Apple picked up the package, which has Plan B producing.

It took a little while, but Inde Navarrette’s post-Obsession career is slowly coming into focus.

On the heels of the newly-minted starlet’s casting as Rogue in Marvel’s upcoming X-Men feature, the actress is attached to star in The Waffle House Index, a sci-fi thriller package just picked up by Apple Original Films. And in a first for Navarrette, she will also exec produce the project.

Plan B Entertainment is producing Waffle House, which has a screenplay by Andrew Nunnelly. Louis Paxton, whose Sundance Film Festival NEXT Innovator Award-winning The Incomer hits theatres later this month, is on board to direct. Sources say the deal for the script was seven figures.

Nobody talks about the waiting room.

The other actors sizing each other up. The sides in your hand, already starting to feel damp. The clock on the wall, ticking louder than it should.

By the time your name gets called, half the work is already done — for better or worse. Not because of talent, but because of what happened in your body in that room before you ever said a word.

That's the part most actors never train for. And that's exactly where we start.

ā€˜Bucking Fastard’ Review: Kate and Rooney Mara Embrace the Weirdness in Werner Herzog’s Nutty but Thin Tale of Two Sisters Who Behave as One.

Orlando Bloom and Domhnall Gleeson also star in this mock-Irish fable about siblings whose hunger for love compels them to tunnel through a mountain.

Nothing if not original, Werner Herzog’s Bucking Fastard casts Kate and Rooney Mara as Irish sisters who speak, think and move in unison, an impressive feat of disciplined acting that exerts its own peculiar fascination. At least for a while. Part of it is the identical outfits, a look that mixes Olsen twins with sister wives and a dash of Franciscan monk. Love the brocade granny handbags. But radical anti-fashion aside, this bizarro fable about unfulfilled love, oversized knitwear and abandoned story threads frays beyond repair, well before it reaches an abrupt and perplexing halt.
