Brave Spaces is a nature-based, Reggio Emilia inspired centre seeking a 3-5’s teacher to join our team of dedicated professionals.

Hours per Week: negotiable: The Centre is open 7:00-5:30, hours variable. Must be able to work a portion of the 5:30 shifts.
Medical Benefits, matched RRSP, reduced fees for staff children, competitive wages, wage enhancement, paid vacation, paid professional development days, paid sick days. Christmas bonus and time off at Christmas. Wages: $20-23 (plus WE, based on experience).
Qualifications / Requirements:
• Early Childhood Educator License to Practice required.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with children, parents and co-workers
• Ability to set up positive environments for children in a Reggio Emilia inspired, faith-based, nature-based centre
• Committed to Care as Education, committed to the BC Early Learning Framework and the ECE Code of Ethics
• Ability to work independently and with team members
• Successful completion of a criminal record check
• Excellent communication skills
• Current first aid/CPR

Tree-climbing, as part of our child-led risky play philosophy, helps children develop adaptation skills that are fundamental to building resilience.

Brave Spaces Early Learning Commons (formerly Southridge Childcare Centre) where I am the director is 10 years old and we are having a come and go bbq reunion tomorrow! If your family has been involved at either SouthRidge or Brave Spaces Early Learning Commons you are invited to attend!

On my recent study tour to Reggio Emilia, Italy I was struck by how they trust one another at the Reggio Emilia schools. I noticed a very distinct form of trust and I have been pondering what it means ever since.

Weather is the ultimate loose part play material! And it’s a full-body sensory experience!

As per our policy the childcare centre will be closed today due to weather conditions. The school district has closed schools for the day. Please see attached photo for school district announcement. Have a fun day at home with your children!
