It's going to be a great year. You can feel it.

Before Ignatius Press existed, there was a young Jesuit taking notes in a Regensburg classroom—under a professor named Joseph Ratzinger.

That seminarian was Fr. Joseph Fessio, SJ. In 1978 he founded Ignatius Press, now the largest Catholic publishing house in the English-speaking world. If a Ratzinger or Benedict XVI title, a Chesterton reprint, or a Catechism companion has ever sat on your shelf, it's because of Fr. Fessio.

This September 24, he's travelling up from California to give the keynote at "Seasons of the Vine," Catholic Pacific College's first annual gala, at The Manor in Langley. Nearly fifty years of Catholic publishing history will be in the room, telling its own story, in person.

Chances to sit across the table from that kind of history don't come around often. Seats are limited, and RSVP closes September 10.

From the very beginning, God wanted more than to rescue you. He wanted you in the family.
Scott Roy unpacks a beautiful truth at the heart of Scripture. God redeems us through marriage, through his Son the Bridegroom, so that we can become his sons and daughters. Baptism is not just a ritual. It is being welcomed into the family, made an heir to everything the Father has. This is the kind of wonder we love to sit with at Catholic Pacific College.
If you are a son, then you are an heir. What would change if you really lived like that?

We say we want to be free. Fr. Harrison Ayre says we are running from it.
His question is simple. Why do the sacraments not always seem to work? The answer is uncomfortable. The problem is rarely God. It is that we would rather worship ourselves. Real freedom was never doing whatever we want. It only exists in relationship with the One it comes from, which is why a life turned in on itself ends up less free, not more.
This is the heart of what we do at Catholic Pacific College. We form people to engage our times fearlessly and faithfully.
Where do you feel most free, and why?
