We hope you had a wonderful Summer, and that all is going well!! We appreciate you having us in your school/facility again this past school year and the previous years.
What we have to offer:
eggUcation is based out of Langley and is an in class hatching program with a fully automated 3 egg incubator. We have the ability to customize our program and cater to educational programs from preschool through grade Twelve. We have been catering to public, private and homeschooling , and private facilities throughout the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley since 2009.
Cost:
The Chick/Quail hatching program is a cost of $200 plus GST and the Duck hatching program is $225 plus GST. A zone fuel surcharge of $25 will be charged to schools/homeschooling outside of Surrey/Langley.
What is included:
The cost of the program per class will cover us bringing in and setting up a 3 egg incubator with a scope with 3 fertile eggs. We bring the eggs in when they are 5-7 days along to guarantee fertility but also that the children will be able to use the scope to see inside the egg right from the day they enter the classroom.
In addition we also provide curriculum based materials and posters, the brooder for when the chicks have hatched as well as food, water, bedding and lighting.
Approximately half way through the session (approximately 1 week before hatch) we can do a Q&A session (also offered via zoom if preferred) with the students where we will answer any questions they may have about the hatching process or chickens/ducks in general. Pick up of the birds following the hatch is left to the discretion of the parents/teachers and how long they would like to keep them.
As we cater to so many schools throughout the school year, We are starting to follow up with teachers who did the program to see if they perhaps want to do another hatch this school year.
For those looking for just eggs in the classrooms, we are reaching out to see if you would like to purchase eggs again for your classroom and preferred months you would like your eggs this school year.
Due to a higher volume in hatching experiences over the past couple of years We are looking to start discussing bookings for Spring time hatching experiences.
If you have any other classes that may also be interested in hatching, please let us know so that we can try our best to accommodate everyone together. If you are a school ordering multiple incubators and you would like to order more than one species we can do that ( ie: 2 chick incubators, 1 quail and 1 duck).
Please note April and May bookings go quickly so if you would like to hatch during those months please don't delay in booking, even if you are not sure yet about funding. As we won’t take payment until the new year.
These bookings usually fill up between now and November.
