This is a great way to prep for school band and to get started on your path to the world of drumming! Online lessons available for pipe band drummers.

I am, of course, always proud of my students accomplishments. On the US Memorial Day weekend, the RMM Pipe Band played in Costa Mesa. The old boy had to play with the grade 5s to help fill out the ranks. As you can see from the video, I'm up to my elbows in drummers! Most of these kids' experience is measured in months, not years.

When the terms "open" and "closed" are used in reference to drum music , such as the "open roll" , "open" means that there is an opening or perceptible space of time between strokes of the drum sticks , while "closed" means that , in the case of rolls , for instance , the movement of the sticks is so rapid that the effect is continuous and even , or "closed" .
