Exploring Nature with Children was launched in summer 2015, and since then it has remained a favourite nature study resource for thousands of families and schools around the world.

In summer 2020 I updated the weekly booklists contained in ENWC as some truly wonderful books had been published since ENWC was first released, and I went through our home library with a fine tooth comb to ensure that classic older books were included too.

The weekly nature walk is always the key component of ENWC. If you're short on time, then this is the aspect to focus your attention upon. The recommended books are a beautiful added extra to support what your child is already learning for themselves, whilst they are spending time in the natural world.

It's a hefty booklist! Please keep in mind that ENWC was written to be used year upon year for layered learning. It's my hope that you will return to the book lists and find new treasures each year, too.

If you're a previous customer, you are always welcome to access any updates simply by using your original email receipt to download the updated version. Please don't worry if you already have a printed copy, I have also included the book list separately, so you can just print out an updated list. { The curriculum itself remains unchanged }

We've got a few spots left for our final Kids Horse Camp of the summer, happening right here in Deroche from August 19-23, mornings from 9 till noon. It’s $350 for the whole shebang!

Freedom to FEEL & Horse Guided Healing

Get your kids involved in the Great Backyard Bird Count next weekend! It can take as little as 15 minutes and is a great way to introduce them to birdwatching.⁠

(edit: you can participate from anywhere in the world!)

You can pick where (even just from your backyard), when (anytime over the 4 days), and for how long (minimum of 15 minutes).⁠

Just count all the birds that you see or hear in the time you've chosen, then record them using a choice of simple apps.⁠ (More information at birdcount.org.)

You don't even need to know how to identify the birds -- it's as simple as listening, looking and counting. But it might just inspire a lifelong interest in your budding ornithologists!
