In February 2025, Grades 3-8 at Khalsa School of the Fraser Valley began a challenge to see which students can do the most Gurbani Paath by the end of the school year. Each student has the opportunity to record the amount of Paath they did the previous day in their classroom’s Paath register every morning. The students who do the most Paath will get a reward at the end of the school year. One special student ended up doing approximately 300 Chaupai Sahib Paaths along with many other Banis less than one month into the competition and so he received an interim prize to recognize him for his efforts. We want to recognize Gurupkar Singh Dhuper from Grade 3 for his passion for Gurbani!

Our students had an exciting field trip to the HR MacMillan Space Centre. They had a chance to see real lunar dust from the Apollo mission and learned about our moon’s fascinating history. Through shows and interactive experiments, they witnessed the science of rocket launches and gained insights into astronauts’ daily life on the International Space Station (ISS). They also learned about Canada’s significant contributions to space exploration.

To mark Truth and Reconciliation Day, our students embarked on a journey of reflection and creativity. Many students watched powerful videos that told the stories of resilience, survival, and the deep scars left by residential schools. We asked our students to reflect on an important question: “Why does every child matter?”

Students brainstormed and shared their heartfelt thoughts. Together, we explored the concept of every child’s right to be loved, heard, and respected.
