Schools out for summer! I remember when I was growing up, summer always meant music with friends, playing lots of shows and going to even more shows. However, now it often seems there isn't anything to do, even though we have so much more today than when we were growing up. How is that even possible?
Well, we believe the solution starts with cultivating the kind of culture you want to pass on to the next generation. I grew up in the punk rock and hardcore punk scene, and I inherited my love for music and rock music from my parents who had a rock band as teenagers, and also from the kids who came before me who grew up in the grunge scene of the early 90s, and they inherited that from the metalheads of the 80s, who got it from the classic rockers of the 70s and so on and so forth all the way back to the blues of the early 1900s. Rock music, well all music for that matter, was not invented in a vacuum. It was not suddenly discovered by mankind either. Rather, it was created and it is a gift and we have continued to create and gift it one generation after another. If you have a kid (or are still a kid on the inside) who wants to learn the guitar and would rather spend his summer rocking out with new people who share similar goals and passions to play music, than stay inside all summer watching other people play videogames on Youtube (my kids do it too), then check out our ROCK AND ROLL SUMMER CAMP program right here in LANCASTER (close to the library and Henderson's). We will be meeting up every Thursday evening at 5:00 from July 4th to August 29th. We will be learning all the basic guitar tricks and techniques necessary to play many of our favorite rock songs from artists like Blink 182, Green Day AC/DC and more! Oh and by the way, THE FIRST LESSON IS COMPLETELY FREE TO TRY! For all Inquiries, please contact Matt at 514-292-9659, or Email us at [email protected]
All ages welcome!
