This bobsled run took a little work to get the weight just right in the Amazon box (strategically placed books did the trick) but here is the final Gold Medal Run!! 🥇

I didn’t get photos of all the online students playing their “sports” but many of them participated in the Olympic festivities too! There were homemade curling rinks, bobsled runs and the ever popular hockey game! Some even made treats to finish off the celebration! (We won’t talk about the one naughty pet who pilfered aforementioned treats…🐶)

And just like that, the Olympics are over! We had so much fun doing bobsled, hockey, and ski cross at our Piano Olympics Class as well as learning O Canada and completing our Olympic passports in advance of the actual week. (And of course, there were medals too! 🏅)

The Keyboard Kritters got to go to their homes over the Christmas holidays and many of them have come back with accessories! (If Barbie is missing any of her stuff, I might know where it is…😉)

We are making sure we’re prepared for the Olympics by having O Canada memorized and ready to go! Shoutout to Finnley for his Gold Medal performance! 🥇

From decorating the music room with colouring pages to crocheting the Olympic rings to learning O Canada, we are ready to cheer on our athletes at the Winter Olympics!

No power? No problem! We have battery operated keyboards that light up when we play, candles, and flashlights. So many flashlights! We were actually a little disappointed when the power came back on! 😁

(In Ontario, our power outages were usually weather related. Here in BC, it is not uncommon to have bird related outages. Yesterday’s was caused by a Canada Goose flying into the lines!)

This gal NEVER backs down from a challenge! Costume Day at piano? Check. 4 page Christmas Recital Song? Check. 10 Extra Christmas Songs? Check. All while preparing for her Grade 3 piano exam? No problemo!

We LOVE games and challenges at Musically Inclined! In this game from Busy Little Turtle, students were challenged to play the rhythms of my Christmas food order (milk, cookies, hot chocolate etc.) There were 12 levels to the game (12 food items to remember and play the correct rhythm of). Congratulations to these 2 superstars who made it to Level 12 (NOT an easy feat)!!!

Keyboard Kritter Update:

In September, students earned their keyboard kritters by completing a series of music tasks.

In October, students earned a treat and had to decide if it was for themselves or the keyboard kritter. This was a BIG decision!

In November, students earned a habitat for their keyboard kritter.

And finally, in December, students were challenged to learn TEN Christmas songs in order to get a friend for their keyboard kritter! This was a big deal; especially for the littles who have less than 15 piano lessons under their belt!

The Christmas programs start this coming week! Come and see your favourite Ontario pianist at The Garden Villa in Chesterville at 4 pm on December 4. You can see your favourite BC pianist at 6 pm on December 12 at The Winfield United Church. 🎄

We are ALL about the games at Musically Inclined! (As a teacher, it’s how I review theoretical concepts blah blah blah. As a student, it’s all about the traps and the secret passageways and of course, beating Ms. Heather! ) This gentleman created Crazy Christmas complete with a separate page of instructions for all the traps and portals! 😁🎄
