Holy shazbot you guys! Thank you SO much for supporting me & my work this past Sunday at Arts on the Avenue in Ladysmith!
What a wonderful day!

Many favourite originals found new homes, as well as loads of cards, magnets, and stickers!

I am so stoked and loved meeting everyone who came out to support local, Canadian artists.

I am so grateful for every purchase, like, kind comment, and love from everyone. I am so lucky I get to do what I do.

Huge thank you to Ladysmith Arts | Vancouver Island for organizing such a great, friendly, artist forward event, I loved every moment of it. ❤️❤️✨✨

You can find me next at Route 19A Fine Arts Exhibition in Qualicum, Sept. 12-13. I’ll be there both days, stop by & say hi!

Wild Creature Lab, Ages 6-9 - Ladysmith Arts 08/19/2026

Meet Joshua Tuil, your instructor for Wild Creature Lab: a playful drawing workshop where participants will explore animal shapes, movement, textures, expressions, and personalities while inventing creatures of their own.

🎨Wild Creature Lab. September 11, 2026 – October 16, 2026. From 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

Through guided drawing games and creative experiments, participants will combine familiar features in surprising ways – a bird with enormous feet, an underwater cat, or a creature no one has ever seen before. The workshop encourages curiosity, builds confident, and imaginative thinking while introducing simple foundations of animal and character design.

All materials will be provided. Participants will work with graphite pencils, black drawing pens, coloured pencils, markers, sketch paper, and heavier drawing paper for their final creature designs.

⭐About the instructor:

Joshua Tuil is a figurative artist, caricaturist, and creative mentor based in Nanaimo, BC. With experience teaching children, teens, and adults, he helps students build strong drawing fundamentals, confidence, and their own creative voice. His teaching combines clear professional guidance with a warm, flexible, and encouraging approach that supports different abilities and learning styles. Josh uses drawing not only as an artistic skill, but also as a tool for observation, storytelling, problem-solving, and self-expression.
