With feedback from our incredibly supportive members, you can learn to do this, to craft a speech, taken from what might be considered a mundane part of your life, and make it shine. By using all the tools available… humour, timing, pauses, voice modulation and a smile, you can capture an audience!

We had a super meeting this week… lots of fun and plenty to celebrate! The theme was Crazy Hat Day… so our chair Richard rose to the occasion by wearing three! There were two Triple Crown awards to present… one to the fabulous Margaret Wong, and the other to Janice Lawler-Cooper! We’re so proud of these ladies And we enjoyed two awesome speeches... our newest member, Scott gave an insightful look into his life; his vulnerability and humour captured our hearts! And Margaret’s level 4 speech from the Successful Club Series about Toastmasters' Educational Program was perfect timing as it triggered two guests to sign up right away!

Important Notice!
Your last chance to visit the Deltones at a regular meeting before the holidays is Thursday, December 18th. We'll be back in session again in January, meeting at Delta Manor the 2nd and 4th Thursday in January, on the 15th and 29th. This will be the perfect time for you to jump on that New Year's resolution to get out of your comfort zone and learn more fabulous tips on how to speak successfully! Our normal schedule resumes in February on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays monthly.
Weaving stories that surprise and delight people can be a learned skill! And being a member of Deltones Toastmasters, you get to see this magic happen! Listening to speeches like this is what keeps us all coming back!

Two members of the Deltones club, Lorna and Richard, were thrilled to be invited to give a presentation promoting Toastmasters at a Rotary Club of Ladner lunch meeting this week. We were even more touched by the thank you card, knowing our presence was being acknowledged with a contribution to The Rotary Foundation's global campaign to eradicate polio. A beautiful gesture.
