COMING SOON!

After a rainy start to the summer, work is now *officially* underway at Popow's Kinsmen Park as your Lacombe Kinsmen Club caps off our 75th Year with some park enhancements!

Here's a pic of Lacombe Kinsmen members Jason Lunn and Derek Stingel supervising the first few buckets and planning next steps.

There will be minimal park disruptions during construction, but we'll be made in the shade when we're through. A new picnic shelter and pathways through the park are in the works - check back here for updates!

Thank-you to our 75th Anniversary Committee, our members and especially our many, many community supporters for coming together in making Popow's Kinsmen Park even more amazing!

Popow's Park is growing!

Our incredible Parks crew was busy last week and again this weekend, cleaning up after the removal of two large trees. The trees needed to be removed regardless of park improvements, but we're excited to report that 26 new trees have now been planted throughout the park!

There is more exciting work ahead. Thanks to the Lacombe Kinsmen Club, Popow’s Park will soon have a new 12’ x 19’ picnic shelter, along with trail improvements that include a new paved trail.

These improvements will make Popow’s Park an even better place to gather, walk and enjoy Lacombe’s urban forest for years to come.
