References for authored books include the author name(s), the year, the title, and the publisher's name. When a book has a DOI, include that as the last detail in the source element of the reference, after the publisher's name.

๐Ÿ“– Printed books and their ebook equivalents use the same reference format. Templates and examples are in Section 10.2 of the Publication Manual (7th ed.).

What's NOT in a reference for a book or an ebook?
๐Ÿ‘‰ The file format, platform, and device (e.g., Kindle) are details not included in the reference.
๐Ÿ‘‰ The location of the publisher is also not included in the reference.

๐Ÿ“š Happy Freedom to Read Week! ๐Ÿ“š

Celebrate the freedom to explore new worlds and ideas through books! This week, we're shining a spotlight on a classic that has sparked conversations for generations:The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain

In 1991 this novel was targeted by a parent group for removal from recommended reading lists in the Saint John (NB) School District 20. The primary objection was the perceived racism in characterization and language.

Let's champion the freedom to read and the power of stories!

Access the eBook through our catalogue here:https://portagecollibr.on.worldcat.org/oclc/968072597

Today, on November 16th, we honor the life and legacy of Louis Riel, a leader who dedicated and sacrificed his life for Mรฉtis rights. His impact continues to be felt across Canada.

At Portage College, we recognize that we owe our very existence to the Mรฉtis who stood up in 1970 to keep our doors open.

Thank you to all who joined us in celebrating Mรฉtis culture and heritage over the past week.

November 8th is Indigenous Veterans Day. Throughout the years, Indigenous participation in Canadaโ€™s military efforts have been impressive. Today, we would like to honor those who have fought to help protect our rights.

If you would like to read up about Indigenous Veterans, here is a link with some information.

We hope that you can take some time out of your day to remember these heroes. Lest we forget.
