π What an incredible National Indigenous Peoples Day! π
We were so honored to be a part of the celebrations this year. Delaina Bull, a Successful Families Successful Kids Wellness Coach, had a wonderful time sharing her knowledge and teachings about smudge boxes with both students and staff.
A massive thank you to Cold Lake Elementary School and Nelson Heights Middle School for inviting us to be a part of this amazing day. Connecting with the youth and community to celebrate Indigenous culture and traditions is truly invaluable.
Take a look at some highlights from our day! πΈπ

πΏ Celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day Together! πΏ
In honor of National Indigenous Peoples Day coming up this Sunday, June 21st, Successful Families Successful Kids was incredibly proud to partner with Cold Lake Junior High and North Star Elementary School for a very special hands-on learning activity!
Last week, students participated in a meaningful smudge box activity. Smudging is a sacred, enduring tradition for many Indigenous cultures, used to clear away negative energy and bring focus, clarity, and peace to the mind and heart. Through assembling and learning about these smudge boxes, our youth are connecting directly with Indigenous teachings, history, and culture.
A huge thank you to the staff, educators, and students at both schools for welcoming this partnership and participating with open hearts and minds. β€οΈ Letβs continue to learn, share, and celebrate the rich history and diverse cultures of Indigenous peoples in our community!
